Hi.

There still seem to be struggles with the hihat open-closed range. Here's a test sound which has a voice saying "0" when open to "10" when closed. A foot splash will say "pedal".

www.2box.se/downloads/HiHat0to10pedal.dsnd

If the calibration is ok, you should be able to get all 11 positions (0 to 10) when hitting the hihat while slowly closing the hihat.

Please test this to check if your hihat behaviour is ok. If you still can't get the right range of open to closed sounds, then that's probably due to the hihat sounds themselves. The DrumIt software automatically divides the open to closed range in as many steps as the sound "offers". Our factory hihats have between 2 (electric type) to 4 (acoustic type) levels.

Deve.
what a great way to test the hi hat if it works properly. this is helpful for everyone. thank you so much

now about the sounds, is there a way we will get offered sounds for the hi hat , from the official site, that have many levels? more than 4?
thanx once again

after reading the forum it just struck me. my brain sounds like a screw is unplugged from its place and moves around. is it possible tha tthis screw moves around while i play and touches something that shouldnt be touched?thus creating that static sound?
or can it also be the adapter overwarming?
i am waiting for the distributor to upload the 2box files so that i transfer them and see if everything gets fixed...

i will post the results

edit

while practising again, i did something i never did after the update
i played without the metronome. still the static sound appeared
so to summarise.
with 1.10 firmware, all i noticed was the metronome performing very bad, out of time etc.
after i updated to latest firmware. metronome seems to work fine , but now random static sounds appearwhether i play with metronome or not

the point i made earlier in this post, that a screw might hit somewhere and make the static, is not valid, as while i only play lightly the snare and nothing else, still the static appears
the point that perhaps the adapter is faulty, or misbehaves when hot (mine gets very hot) could be valid though.

i am waiting on the new files from the distributor. once he sends them i will post again. otherwise i guess that the module will go for repair. still, before the update, it worked fine?

I`ve tested the 1.20 Beta. Very nice to have an EQ! Nice Mixer Page. But: To get Bellsound on Ride is velocity sensitiv, i think the "switchoverpoint" is now to low! If i play the Ride on the bow, i often get a very quite Bellsound instead of a louder bow sound. So it would be good, if you could set the velocity point where the bellsound appears in software for your own playing style.

Best wishes

Very nice to have EQ indeed, we (the band) are doing a coverband thing at a local bar next week, the 2box will be used 'cause a acoustic set would be too loud. The EQ will really help make the drum pop out, I think a lot of treble get lost when a set is mic'd up.

I would like to know if someone of you noticed any improvements for the hihat by using the 1.20 firmware.

My problem is, that there are still not many half open steps to hear and to feel, - btw. the "sweet spot" for half open Hihats is IMO way too small. Also the difference between edge and bow sound is very little.

it would be good if you could adjust the crossover points for each hihat position independently...

as far as the difference between edge and bow sounds, that is to do with the samples themselves, not the triggering.

All I did was put his .dsnd file in the Hi Hat sound folder with all the rest of the HH .dsnd's . That's all you have to do. Then when you want to test just exchange that sound for the Hi Hat.
I could tell you where to stick that piezo! :D ;)

i know i am boring you with my problems. so apologies beforehand. bear with me please

as i had mentioned, with this beta update whenever i play, after a while, i hear static sounds, every now and then. really irritating sounds.
well, i got back to 1.10 firmware. crazy thing is that now the metronome problems i had with 1.10 seem to have gone away.i havent practised enough to be 110% sure but they seem to be gone.

so is it possible tha the problems i have are specific to 1.20?
it puzzles me that noone else has the static.
probably i have a small problem that triggers the static in 1.20 but isnt so obvious in 1.10?
i will send the brain to the distributor next week, but i am so puzzled i thought id ask your opinions

edit. i wished tha tthe metronome problems in 1.10 got away.well they havent. just to let you know...
so in 1.10 metronome is incosistent, in 1.20 beta metrionome is fine but static appears all over the place....oh well

Could the static sound be due to a bad AC adapter?

BURNIN AMBITION

really hope so mate. i will send the brain and the adapter to the distributor on tiesday. i will inform you all when i have more news. thanx

BURNIN AMBITION

i do not know if i should ask it here or in the requests but anyway...

is it possible that we can have the metronome, loudest volume, to be a bit louder?

i know that we could lower the volume of all pads so the metronome would still be louder but that is a pain in the @ss to do every time.
just a thought. thanx

I guess it is possible ...

when I tried to make the Dsound with "same volumes ticks" , i had to lower the level(-6db ) of the first tick sound ( top velocity layer...) to match the other ticks loudness ...
so i guess that if deve loper modify the midi volume of the metronome , it could sound close to four times louder ...

by the way it could be nice if we could chose the velocity ourselves for first tick (accent) and the others ... so everybody could set it as they like it ...

have a nice day ..

BURNIN AMBITION

all these are great ideas. thanx to you mate and thanx to deve for all his help support and effort
